Biography
Early 2011, the mini album ‘All is there’ was released during the All Hearts Revue, in a sold out Paradiso. It was the start of a true triumphal year. Gerhardt and his band played the Liberation Day festivals in Haarlem and Amsterdam, Oerol and the Zwarte Cross amongst others. On top of that he was invited to participate in the national travelling festival Popronde and selected Hollandse Nieuwe. The absolute icing on the cake of the year is a spot at the Noorderslag 2012 festival. Gerhardt proves that as an independent artist and an amazing team you can come a long way.
The first single of All is There, ‘A brand new Heart’ with a special video were on the playlist of Radio 1 and 2, 3FM and all regional radio stations. His remarkable live performances brought him to De Wereld Draait Door, RVT-Noord-Holland, Michiel Veenstra, Giel Beelen, Laat op Twee and Tros Muziekcafe. His 3FM talent nomination brought this colourful artist to the attention of many Dutchmen. The second single also was a success: a large radiostation in Brasil discovered his music via Twitter and put ‘I want to be you’ on the playlist and ‘Lady, drive home’ was selected the official Christmas single.
Gerhardt recorded the mini-album ‘All is There” with musicians from Triggerfigger and producer David Poltrock who previously worked with bands such as Hooverphonic/Arid. The songs were recorded in the famous JET-studio in Brussels. Black Pete, who also mixed songs for Peter Fox and Joe Jackson, has worked hard in Berlin to make sure that the songs come to full bloom when blast from your speakers.
Gerhardt has played at sleazy, big, small, odd and rickety stages in Moscow, Cuba, Portugal, Finland, Germany, Lapland, Belgium and the Netherlands. He plays his music in Japanese looking cocktail bars, 16th century courtyards, back seats, steamy living rooms, prisons and rock stages.
Gerhardt, artist. For you, precious listener Especially for you.
